Hi everyone new here, lovely to meet you all!
I currently have a 5 month old kitten, been vaccinated, wormed etc at the vets and due for neutering in a few weeks time. He's a total snuggle puss follows me around the house (I work from home) and is very confident and outgoing, will approach anyone. He's an indoor cat.
Well have been thinking about having two cats since we got him, but wanted to make sure we could afford/ manage two before getting anouther. So had 3 months to think about it. I was hoping because of his friendly, relaxed outgoing nature he may take to anouther kitten? he gets on great with our dog who is 9.
We've been to see a kitten and I've fell in love! Would really love to take him, however its also a tom like mine. Obviously they'll both be neutered, just wondering if two toms will tollerate each outher? there'll be 4 months age difference between them (mine is older)and we have a large-ish house so plenty of space for them to get away from each outher.
Also how likely are they to spray? I can live with the occassional spray as I'm at home to keep on top of it, but dont want to be absolutely lifting to high heaven with cat wee! ;D
Also the lady whom I'll be getting it off is a show breeder and has a lot of cats, they're all well loved and looked after but there may well be fleas in the home.
I'm planning on taking him straight to the vets the day we pick him up for a check up, the lady mentioned they'll be wormed/de-flead before we take them but how can I know for sure? Obviously I dont know if the vet willl treat him if he may have already been done?
I have a spare room to put him in till he settles, how long should I keep them apart to reduce stress/ parasites etc also her female has not been vaccinated do I need to worry about this? my male has been vaccinated as had his mother however she was an indoor/outdoor cat.
Sorry about the long post
