Hi!
My name is Carole & I live in North Tyneside with my husband & my cats. I did have 3, but we had to sadly put out tom cat, Mulder, to sleep yesterday. He will be sorely missed as he was such a character, but we still have his sister, Sculley & our old cat, Callie. We would like to grieve for Mulder before we even start contemplating in adopting any kittens. I would like to point out, that, whatever we adopt will not be to replace Mulder, but to give a cat a loving home.
Carole.

Hi Carole,
Welcome to the site. However I am sorry to hear that you have suffered a sad loss with the passing of Mulder.
Don't worry, no one here will pressurise you to adopt another, it simply isn't what these forums are about.
If you feel you need to talk about Mulder in order to help cope with the grief you are feeling, then this is the place to do it, as most of us here have gone through the pain of loss, and will do all we can to help you.
Often we have no say in when we are ready to adopt another, as a cat comes along, and leaves us little choice. Most choose us, not the other way around.
Anyway, welcome again, and we look forward to you joining in the various posts on the many boards.

when and IF you get another cat sort of depends on what happens. you may find a cat you feel that you and the cat "need" each other and that may happen at any time or never.. i had a cat tabbatha who went missing and it took me almost 6 months before i felt ready to have another and it was a case of i saw Maggie and i knew instantly we needed each other.. Sadly almnost 2 yrs ago My Maggie died aged 2yrs,, we think from chewing on a poisonous plant.. Maggie was the most perfect cat ever .. i was so shocked that just 3 weeks later Martha came to us and 2 weeks later we gor Lexi .. i still miss Maggie loads it will be 2yrs in May since she passed and i still miss her like mad. she was so perfect. but for all she was young when she died i do have lovely memories of her and as a family we often talk about our Mags I love all my cats the ones i have now and the ones who passed away i know i had happy cats that were loved. a new cat NEVER replaces another cat as they all have their own personalities when it's right to get a new baby you will know.. sleep tight Mulder
