Any advice? Harry and Grace play fight a lot - not a problem. When one of them squeaks, the other releases them.... most of the time... Sometimes Harry seems to get a little over excited and doesn't release Grace for a good 10 -20 seconds despite the fact that she's protesting. Should I seperate them and if so, how? I was young myself the last time there were 2 kittens in the house so can't remember how my mam dealt with it and Mols was an only kitten (and would play fight with the broom head....it never protested, funnily enough ) A friend suggested scruffing him but I've never done that and it's not something I'd be comfortable doing - I never did it with Mols or the other cats I had. I don't know much about scruffing, to be honest, it just feels wrong. Or should I just let them sort it out themselves? I hate hearing Grace protesting and my immediate reaction is to help her! I did pick Harry up the couple of times he did it in my presence but ended up getting bit and scratched for my trouble! I then waved a toy at him so he would play with that instead which works after removing him but doesn't work while he's got her pinned. It's like he's in "the zone" and his only goal is to play fight and get Grace pinned! My reason for posting it is that my bro has just sent me a text to say that Harry didn't release Grace and he didn't know what to do so any help is appreciated! Oh, and Grace never seems hurt afterwards - a little ruffled and indignant, maybe but she gets over it quickly so I don't think he's actually hurting her too much - probably just being a bit too rough for her liking!

when i had 2 babies (martha and Lexi) in the main they were as bad as each other when it came to ruff stuff.....they'd pin each other down and kick and bite each other, taking it in turns to squeel . I just let them get on with it as neither was really getting hurt BUT the difference was they were having a "fair" playfight It was wierd cos they bash each other a bit then take turns to groom each other before 1 would decide it's fight time again

If Grace is not getting hurt I would just let them continue to sort it out themselves. My three used to pin each other down regularly, even Tallulah had to learn how to defend herself and she has paws like a shovel lol. Now they tend to just swipe at each other now and then, they very rarely fight and if they do its over in 10 seconds, usually one gives a hiss and backs off, I think they have just worked it out amongst themselves. I never separated them just gave a loud clap of my hands when it got rough, enough to make them scarper.

I tried the hand clapping thing last night and it worked! Helps that now they're allowed downstairs during the day - they are burning more energy off and so are sleeping longer at night now.
I woke up this morning with both of them cuddled in together on my tummy - bless! As soon as I woke up, both nabbed a hand and started grooming me - I love the ticklish feeling so it was a nice way to start the day!
It's quite sweet but doesn't help me to sleep when I stir in the early hours of the morning and Grace starts head butting me to give her cuddles - I just can't say no! Then, because Grace is awake, Harry initiates the wrestling again so they have a mad half hour!

Harry likes to pat my eye when I wake up. It was something that he was doing to my bro and now I'm getting it too!! They know how to get under the covers now - I had kitty claws in my butt at 5am this morning! Molly would always start meowing 10 mins BEFORE the alarm! Oh, and if I didn't get up straight away once the alarm had gone off, she would be scratching at the door and doing meows that got louder and louder. Thankfully she knew what weekends were (mostly cos I let her in with me) so would let me sleep till about 7.30am..... wasn't she kind?

Oh yeah, wrestling matches. Rosie used to slam dunk Sophie when she was a kitten, and Sophie used to bite her neck hard until she cried out, but it was just them playing Heres a couple of shots of Rosie wrestling with Sophie and Jack, and Sophie wrestling with Rosie ;D Poor Jack's getting rabbit kicked but he still went back for more!

I've just noticed all your cats have mittens!! Love mittens! Those are good pics.
I wanted to get a couple of the kittens wrestling but they just roll all over the place and the pics end up blurry!!

I bought a camera that catches movement because i had a lot of pictures that would have been really good with my old camera but came out blurred The disposable ones are great for catching movement though if your not bothered about having them on your pc?.

I think I might have a "sports" function on my camera - I'll double check! I was sorting through some stuff the other night and came across some cds of pics, one of which is full of pics of Molly and another half and half of Molly and Edinburgh - she's the reason I got a digital camera in the first place!! Turns out I have over 300 pics! Wonder how many cds I'll fill up of pics of the kittens? (especially if I do have a sports function...)
