Oh Bless, that youngster isnt even 6 weeks old judging by the eye colour.........so give him a teddy or a hot water bottle, in case he starts to get depressed.
Far too young to be away from Mum and Litter Mates

Chris at what age do the eyes change? Just when i got Tegan (RIP) she had blue eyes.. the pet shop said she was 7-8 weeks but she was tiny........when i got her home she would not eat........ I was mushing up kitten food with kitten milk and feeding her from my fingertip.. to encorage her to drink i fed her milk and water from a medicine syringe.. drop by drop ......after 2 days she would take food from tip of a spoon...then after maybe another 3 days she finally ate properly.... The day after i got Tegan i took her to the vets as i was worried. the vet (PDSA) said she was maybe 6weeks but possibly just 5 but that she seemed in good health and her tummy was full....

kittens eye colour starts to change at 6 weeks, then at around 7 - 8 weeks they develop back teeth, so between these things you can determine age quite well.
Re the peeing on the bed thing Katie, keep a tray in the bedroom too, then when you see the kitten sniffing around or indeed, squatting, pick him up and put him in the tray. If you dont solve that problem now, he will always use your bed as a litter tray...
I get so annoyed at Pet Shops who sell kittens too early, and people who are fed up of the kitten running around all over and peeing all over, so they give them to their new owners far too soon.
Good Luck with this Katie.

Seems Tegan may have been a real baby when we got her Lucky for us although we had a problem with feeding she was 100% with her litter tray.. We tended to confine her to 1 room for a few weeks so her tray was always in ready and in reach.

Rosie was only 6 weeks when i got her from a pet shop No shelters had any kittens, so i found her at a shop in cullercoats and took her out of the miserable place Fortunately she was litter trained. I wish they could bring laws into stop these places selling kittens and puppies
