It is cute and I hate to keep the cat out of the bedroom when he seems so happy...but I need some sleep!
Every night he settles either in his basket under the bed or at the foot of the bed and sleeps til about 4am. He then invariably does his trademarrk BRRRrrrrrrrrrrpppPPP and jumps on the bed and paws my face and crawls all over both of us. I then give him a quick stroke and deposit him back on the floor. This repeats until morning every 30 mins or so even if we just try to ignore him. Twice after he came back from going missing he slept the full night on the bed and didn't bother us at all but he has since reverted to type.
As I said I don't really want to shut him out of the bedroom as he likes being able to mill around, but have little choice at the minute.
I guess he is just wanting food and/or attention but any tips on how to allow him to stay in the bedroom, but not to wake us up?!?

I have no clue lol, my three always sleep in the bedroom, but I am finding as summer is comming and the birds are tweeting they are wandering around earlier, I am jammed in the bed with them, but I think I have just got used to it, I cant shut the door they would just hammer it down. I am often woke by a tongue grooming my eyebrows or licking my nose, probably why I am always knackered lol.

I have no clue either. Honey has the cute ( but only for about 30 seconds) habit of batting my nose and mouth with her paw from dawn until i give i up an get her breakfast. With summer coming i have even resorted to using the timed feeder, which seems to placate her enough to settle down again. talk about cats running the household! Wouldn't change her for the world though lol!

This is what we always say to people.
About an hour before going to bed play with the cat if you can with one of those wand toys so their jumping about to get rid of their energy, then give them a bowl of wet food so they have a full tummy and then they should sleep like babies.
Jacks started waking me up at 5.a.m by bouncing all over the bed, tormenting the girls, and making those brrrrppp noises, then he tries to shove his nose in my mouth as well while giving out squeeky meows, but the feather wands come out the closet again ;D

Molly was a pain last night and was insistant on lying as close to my head as possible - I wouldn't normally mind, but she also wanted to do it while lying on me!! It didn't matter how I lay, she would climb all over me, trying to find somewhere on me that she could sleep with her face in mine! It usually meant that I had kitty elbows and knees in my neck or digging into my ribs and it's really not comfortable or easy to breathe!
I wouldn't really recommend this but after about two hours, I decided enough was enough and "threw a tantrum" - basically, I did what 3 yr olds do in the middle of the supermarket and lay there, flinging limbs about and going "arrrgggghhhhhh" for about 15 seconds. It worked (no surprise!) - I woke up with Mols curled up next to me but not on me!! Still had her face right next to mine tho! Then she had the nerve to grumble when I wanted to shift her so I could get out of bed!! lol

Lol Susan, are you actually waving your feather wand at 5am in the morning . Nooooo lol. If i play with him an hour befor bed time he's usually great and settles down until i wake. The wet food trick is brilliant though. I gave the them their breakfast this morning and Jack had more than normal. By the time i was leaving for work his little eyes were closing ;D Molly was a pain last night and was insistant on lying as close to my head as possible - Yes, that's Jack as well ;D
