Well Flaggs had an accident, my daughter ignored her cleaned it up and put another litter tray down and hey presto it works, it turned out Samson her other cat had used Flagg's tray and she didn't like it so now with the 3 trays down all is calm again! However poor Samson has been back and forward to the vets since November, it turns out he has a disease in his eyes which cannot be cured but with drops they can be kept under control! The eye specialist says he will be on drops for the rest of his life, he was on 2 different ones but last time he was there the vets says he can stop the steroid ones till he goes back later this month but has to keep on with the oily ones. His eyes looked like he had cataracts, all cloudy and red but he didn't have them. He hates the drops but tolerates them. Poor thing is only about 2 and a half but at least they can be controlled, i can't remember the name of the disease but it is supposed to be rather common. He such a good lad it's a shame for him. My daughter was just in the process of getting them both insured but unfortunatly she can't get the drops, eyes specialist fees etc on that now Typical!

i once made the mistake of delaying getting pet insurance, when we had our dalmation Bobby . ended up with a vet bill of over £500. he was on medication for life, prescription food for life and urine tests every 12 weeks. The thing is had we had pet plan then they'd have even paid for the food for us mind it turned out if i got the huge sack of food from the vet it worked out only £1 per day for his food so not too bad if i done it that way, forking out £50 a time though. All 3 girls are insured, i've never needed to claim but glad i have it

I have a feral with a similar condition, but as it is a feral I wont stress him out with a visit to the Vets, but he is managing fine, and it doesnt seem to be causing him too much bother.
He has had this for about 6 years, and it started when he was fairly young also.
