got Lexi and Martha chipped took Lexi 1st cos Martha was out playing .. Lexi was not happy at all she started crying VERY loud as soon as we got there dunno if she needed a wee or was upset at the amount of dogs , she's always fine when we goto the vets. Chris i think i saw you there but could not stop to say hello cos Lexi was so distressed .. i just got home and Martha turned up so popped her over she behaved very well . Never took Molly cos she's very nervous and it was far too busy for her when she gets upset she starts fur pulling so i'll get her done when she's getting her yearly booster....put donations in the "tubs" ..will send a separate one to CP . Lexi is not my friend at all she's gone to sulk upstairs

Oh I am sorry I didnt get to meet you, although I must admit it was manic........lol
Sorry I didnt give more notice, I just didnt think to advertise it on here.......what a numpty !
The next time we are going to arrange a time for 'just cats' so that they wont get too stressed by the dogs.
The tubs, although they said Pawz for Thought were actually to assist the funding of the next one, so you dont need to send us a donation Cheryl.
Now I am shattered......so off for a shower

The roadshows sound like a good idea. There's some new kittens in my street - will there be any taking place in Northumberland? It would be handy when the kittens are a little older (they're only 9 weeks - bless!). Also the mummy cat (who lives opposite me) needs chipped. (She often visits the runt of her litter which now lives next door to her - she pins her kitten down and gives her a clean then goes and pinches her food!)

from the 2 times i was over there (Lexi then Martha) it seems to have done really well. When i was waiting for Lexi to go in i was asked if she was OK with rabbits, as a bunny was being chipped. I said she'd never seen one, would probably be fine but cos she was so upset I'd prefer she did not see bunny They even closed the little window up a-height cos i had images of her diving through it .. Aw mind there was 1 dog i was tempted to steal A stunning Doberman boy..awwwww he was lufferly mind hubs would not have been impressed and the owner who'd just had him chipped may not have been too happy ...

Hi Cheryl. I was the person on the door to the chipping room. (Tall Redhead.) As I am tall I could see through the door and get ready for chipped animals coming out. I could also survey the entire scene to see any problems occuring. It's a pity I didn't have my Cats Protecton T shirt on. It was in the wash from being used the day before. I was soaking with sweat.
Thursday was manic. If you think Friday was busy you should have been there on Thursday. The temperature was very warm and we allowed everyone into the room and then into the line ups. Big mistake.
On Friday we had everyone queue outside. Much better for the animals and it seemed to calm the dogs down a bit.
Don't know if you went in to see a vet but they were working flat out. I felt sorry for the RSPCA chippers and the vet as they couldn't keep the windows open in case of cats jumping out of them.
Hope to see you at another event sometime.

We had the Co-ordinator of the Bedlington Branch pop in on Friday, and she is very interested in having the Road Show in her area, so fingers crossed it wont be too long before there is one in Northumberland.
Our next one is in Sunderland, followed by Willington Quay area.
I will keep you all posted, well in advance this time, of all future events.
Plus if anyone wants to join us on the days to help out, you would all be very welcome !!!

Hi Val so um are you the one who's cat brings rabbits in then . cos we had that conversation while Lexi was waiting (and being noisy) we never went in to see the vet the girls are fine plus i don't think Lexi would have came back out her box anywhere but at home I think she's forgiven me now though .. just hope when she gets her boosters mid sept she does not remember being upset in the carrier

Yep, thats me. Ebony brought in a bird this morning and Jet a mouse. Thank goodness they usually take them to a part of the garden that we call "the killing fields". Every time I get round to weeding the garden I have to be so careful where I put my hands and what I pick up with the weeds.
A tip for you, in case she refuses to go into her carrier in September. Have your carrier firmly against an immovable object, (wall/fridge/etc) have her face facing your arm, have your arm under her body, your hand under her rear end and put her in backwards. Cats cannot see out of their rear ends and if you do it quickly they do not have time to do the octopus thing. Legs all over and paws on the front door with a face that could kill and they prove just how strong they can be by not letting you push them in and how stubborn they are.
Another way is to put the carrier on its end, lift the cat up into the air and 'drop' the cat quickly into the carrier. Obviously I don't mean you should actually drop her but I am sure you get the picture.
If a cat gets distressed in a carrier it is always sensible to have a thick towel or blanket to hand to cover the carrier. When cats are in the dark they usually calm right down. There are a few exceptions of course. Cats will always be cats.

she's been in since yesterday cos i left it out as normally they like to use it to hide in obviously that was with the door bit left open. She'll probably go in no bother just not sure how she will be once the door is shut. Hopefully it was just a 1 off with her. Maybe she just needed a wee or something. as i had just sort of quickly bundled her in before she changed her mind about coming in the house , poor girl probably only came home for a toilet stop At least when she goes to the vets it tends to be quiet and deffo not so many dogs.. plus Martha will be going at the same time. Lexi's never been the only one going on a trip in the boxes .. for kitten stuff i always had the 2 torti's in the same box. when they had their spey op they had different boxes but knew they were going together still

my friends cat often brings stuff home he sort of disects them on the outside door mat. It's one of those rubber ones with the holes in. Paddy cat likes to sort out the bits he does not like and drops 1 bit in each "hole" she's gotta clean up after him and tries to figure out what he's had from what is left......she sends me pics to see if i can work out his latest meal urgh the leftovers are not a nice sight Lexi got a mouse a few weeks ago but she just killed him and popped him down in the back garden.. Odd thing was she dropped it where Tegans grave it She can't know that was the "plot" but it was just strange she plopped it down at that spot

The other day Jet came in, ran upstairs and I could hear the tell tale sounds of someone being sick. I went up to survey the damage but could not find anything. I was just leaving the room when I noticed a pile of sick on the shelf.
Off to the loo to get a tissue and guess what I found on the shelf. A pile of semi digested biscuits, some hard bloody bits and a long tail. He had consumed a rat. A big one by the look and size of the tail. At least he didn't bring it in alive. I am getting too old to chase fast things. It is bad enough tryng to catch the odd rabbit but at least the dog, Lucy, usually helps with what she thinks is fun.
I still love them though but sometimes wonder why I kiss and cuddle them.

yrs ago my friends brother lived near Saltwell park and his cat came home with a Duck .. they were terrified for weeks that someone would come round complaining. When we had Maggie and Tegan- tegan often got mice, she's scoff them where as Maggie would give us them as gifts personally i prefer flowers or chocolates i remember tellin my nephew off when Tegan had a mouse cos he took it off her i said it was her mouse and he should not have done that especially as he shouted at her . I was not overly impressed with her myself but it's what they do .. THIS is the best gift i ever got from my cats Maggie was seen playing with himn in the garden she was trying to stroke his head.. he was quite dazed so we managed to scoop him up... he was a bit worse for wear so maybe had been out a little while..... anyway 3 yrs on he's still here we called him Burt and he's got new friends now called Rosie and Gizzmo.. (we did have 5 at 1 point but Pepper and Harly died a few months ago) i can't believe Maggie never killed him
