You know, I wrote in a previous post on this thread that cats can get jealous, actually I dont really believe that to be true. We are actually crediting them with emotions they are not capable of. So jealousy is the wrong word, my possessive is a better one, although still not correct.
If I am stroking one of my cats, and Waylon spies me doing that, he will come over and push his way in for his share of the affection, now I wrongly say, 'oh here he comes, jealous boy' when really all he is doing is saying, Oi...there are cuddles around, I want some of that...
You know, when I was a tiny baby......now, no comments on that please......lol, apparently we lived a little while in a flat above a Fish & Chip Shop. One night my mother put me in my cot and when she returned into the room she was horrified to find my cot crawling with rats....
They didnt hurt me, in fact they did me a favour, as to this day I have no fear of rats, but they obviously attracted by the smell of milk.....
I still feel a cat is attracted to the same smell, and perhaps the combination of smell of milk and then an unexpected movement from the child would cause a reaction from the cat, who knows? Interesting debate though..

yes you can see why some people would be worried also Tallulah is a large cat weighing 11 pound and if she sat on a baby she would cover it, ive noticed a lot of people wanting to rehome cats as they seem to develop allergies at around 18 months old, especially long haired cats.
