the vet i used then (croft) also scored the murmur by listening to it.. he only just caught it with Maggie cos she would not stop purring long enough for him to hear her heart , He decided giving her her injection would stop her purr but she just purred even more she just loved to be the centre of attention.. he'd never heard a cat purr the way Mags did ;D..

Thanks again for all the info everyone. Just an update on how Lilly is doing - she is back to her normal mischievious self. We are doing ok with giving her her daily tablet, we don't prolong the issue, jus give her it and thats that. Hopefully this way she will get used to it as a daily occurance. Really gutted that her and Tilly arn't insured but what can I do. No isurance company would insure anything to do with her heart and most wouldnt insure for any problems that would stem from this. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Should I still get them insured? x

Glad Lilly is back to her mischievious self, I cant advise on the pet insurance only suggest you get a couple of quotes. I have no pet insurance, I save a weekly amount away per week incase of emergencies. Let us know how you go, I think Cheryl has pet insurance, she may know how it works.

Have you tried Pet Plan?.
A girl i work with has a labrador who had a double cruciate leg op. No insurance company would take her on knowing this except Pet Plan, and the monthly plan wasn't bad either.
I'm pleased Lilly's getting into a routine with her meds though ;D

She's so canny bless her - she's started taking her tablet from our hands how good is that??! I couldn't believe it! x

Sammy don't worry, only true animal lovers understand where your coming from. Their our kids at the end of the day even though their covered in fur. That's excellent that Lilly's doing great, and by the way she's taking her meds as well ;D I echo what Chris has said in that i pray that Lilly has a normal life

i'm sorry to hear about lily 1 of my cats has a heart murmur and he's 3 now, it doesn't stop him doing anything, he runs, jumps, plays, everything a normal cat would do. he gets tires a bit easier but knows when he's had enough, so don't worry she'll be fine
